If You Want More Money, FOCUS & DO
One of the recurring themes of my posts will be about knowing where you want to go, and then DOING what gets you there.
I find too many people who also suffer from a serious case of ”chasing the next big thing” syndrome. In your mind you keep changing what it is you’ll do to earn or maintain your wealth. Do you find yourself chasing different schemes and dreams? Is it always “this is it”, but it never turns into wealth?
Here’s the thing…1st, DECIDE what you want out of life. Not how much money you want, but focus on what you want to BE, DO & HAVE. Then work backwards and figure out how much it will all cost.
Next, DECIDE what is the thing that you’d love to do, even if you weren’t getting paid and figure out a way to turn your passion into a paycheck. People are being paid huge sums of money to do what they love. Oprah talks, Tony Robbins inspires, Samantha on the Travel Channel has a killer job hitting all the luxury / fun spots on the planet.
You don’t have to hit it big either. There are thousands and thousands of people that you’ll never hear about who make six and seven figure incomes doing what they love. You don’t think that all those luxury homes and cars are owned by broke people, do you?
Let me repeat myself here from the last couple of days: Use The Success Principles by Jack Canfield, and The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss. You will come away knowing all the details of what I’m sharing with you and you’ll know exactly what to do and how to do it.

The Four Hour Work Week
Yesterday I told you that the book that played the biggest part in my life and financial success is “The Success Principles” by Jack Canfield.
The 2nd most powerful success book I’ve ever read is Timothy Ferriss’ “The Four Hour Work Week”. This book is not about being lazy and getting rich while sleeping off a hangover on some beach.
It’s about how most of our time working is filled with wasted, repetitive motion, ineffective filler stuff. If we get right down to it, we can outsource most of what we do to people who need jobs and are willing to work. You have more people doing the work, so more gets done. You spend your time making sure they are doing their job, and then spend you new found free time doing good in the world.
I’ve given more work to people around the world since reading this book than I did in all of my previous professional career. Also, I have gotten better results from specialists than by trying to do it all myself. As a result, I have made a lot more money, have more free time, and am able to help more people.
Read the book, DO what he says. It works. I promise you if you will just live the way Tim lays it out, your life will change for the better…fast.

The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
If I had to tell you what one book has influenced me and pushed me over the top from mediocrity to phenomenal success, (aside from the Bible), I would say without hesitation that its Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”.
I had the pleasure several years ago to meet Jack, and he is as genuine as they come. In spite of a very busy schedule he took his time for photos and introductions to a couple hundred people individually, one by one.
That prompted me to go and read his book. Actually, not just read it, but use it as a workbook for life. In the beginning of the book he says that if you will just do what the book says, you are guaranteed to double your income and have the life of your dreams in two years or less. A big promise.
Here’s the trick. If you will simply get the book (at the library if you can’t afford it), and chapter by chapter DO what he asks before moving to the next chapter, you will get the results! It really does work. It’s sort of like following a recipe for baking a cake. You don’t question the fact that if you follow the recipe you’ll get a cake. It’s the same with wealth / life building. There is a recipe. If you follow it, you will get an awesome & prosperous life.
Don’t take my word for it, just DO it. By the way, almost everything he tells you to do cost zero money. Don’t be put off by the simplicity of the process.

Money Comes From Taking Action
Unless you inherit your money, you need to ACT to attain any level of wealth. Fact is that even if you inherit money, someone else acted so that you could reap the benefits.
Whether it’s getting an education then doing the work, or just simply going to work, it takes action to gain wealth.
Have you ever noticed that some people spend a lot of time in front of the TV, or spend lots of time just “wasting time”, and then they complain about being broke?
Have you noticed that some people are focused, they do what needs to be done, and they not only have money but they seem to find time to enjoy it too?
It doesn’t so much matter what you do, it just matters THAT you do.

How to Make More Money
What do you spend your time thinking about? Are you focused on sports, your lack of money, your I-Pod music, something that’s bothering you, the latest gossip?
We become what we focus on. In other words, your financial life is a direct result of what you spend your time thinking about. If you think about how to add value, and ACT on those thoughts, you will HAVE MORE MONEY!
Sound too easy? It’s not. It is simple, but it is not easy to control the focus of our thoughts and then take focused ACTION on them.
If you spend your time reading good things by authors like Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hansen, or you listen to some of their free on line talks (check out http://youtube.com and look them up), you will begin to find your thoughts turning towards ways to become financially successful and abundant.
When you change your inputs, thoughts, mental focus and actions, you WILL obtain positive monetary results. I promise you this works 100% of the time, for everyone…even YOU!

Decide To Have Money & Success
This is one of the simplest, yet hardest concept to DO.
If you want money & success, you cannot just wish for it, you MUST decide, and then act on that decision. If you give some thought to what you actually want, and why you want it, then decide, choose to get it. If you only want, wish or dream, but don’t actually decide and act, then you end up where most people end up…a broke dreamer who never gets the desired results.
What do you want? Are you willing to pay the price to get it? Decide today that what you want is worth going for, and then take steps to make it real. If you just move in the direction of your decision, even if it is just a small step, you have begun.

How To Make Money Step 2
There are only a couple of steps to actually make money. It is simple. Not always easy, but always simple. Did you DO Step #1 from yesterday? DO NOT even think of reading or doing this step until you have done step #1.
How To Make Money Step #2: Find out ways to get paid for doing what you like. This is the fun and easiest part of the process. Simply do an internet search for “how to get paid for skiing” or “get paid to travel”, etc for whatever it is you like to do. Remember that your list is made up of stuff you’d do for fun, even if you weren’t getting paid. Now we take the things on that list and find out How To Make Money doing them.
Go to google.com or bing.com and do a search for GET PAID TO ____________________ , or HOW TO MAKE MONEY ____________ING. You get the idea? Some of the sites are going to try to sell you something. Buy only if it makes sense and will help you. Mostly though just look at the sites and find out for yourself that someone somewhere is already getting paid for whatever it is that’s on your list of things you love to do. Believe it or not, there are even legal and ethical ways to get paid to have sex. REALLY!
A great site to find out about how to make money doing different things is The Ezine Directory at http://www.ezine-dir.com/ . Also check out EzineArticles.com Both sites have articles written by thousands of experts in just about every field you can imagine. There is a way to make money and be very well paid too, by doing just about anything & everything.
Get busy on How To Make Money Step 2 right now. Winners don’t wait. They do what they need to do right away.
Anthony Robbins taught me to “never leave the site of a decision without taking at least one action towards fulfilling the goal.” He also taught me the saying “When would now be a good time?” Successful people do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, so that they can ultimately do what they want, when they want with whom they want.” Be one of the few who do. DO IT NOW!

How To Make Money Step 1
Are you truly ready to learn how to make money? Are you ready to DO something so that you WILL make more money now? Prove it! Those who consistently make real money KNOW what to DO, and DO it. If you don’t have all the money you want, then right now, today start DOING what I ask of you. It’s FREE and it WORKS!
Step 1: Make a list of the Top 20 Things You Like To Do.
In Jack Canfield’s book “The Success Principles” (I highly recommend you get this book and put it to use) this is the first step towards making real money. If you’re reading this now, chances are it isn’t the first time you’ve looked for ways to make money. How much money do you have now? How did the old ways work for you? If you don’t have all that you want, try something different. DO what I’m asking of you, no matter how silly it seems. Just DO IT!
What do you enjoy? Do you like sharing what you know? Do you like selling, building, fixing, cooking, talking, skiing, traveling, learning, helping people? Don’t worry how you’ll make money at it for now. We’ll cover that later. This is the 2nd MOST important step in the process. I’ll share the most important step later, but we need to do all of this in order.
If you skip or do a poor job with this step #1, it will affect your results later in the process. Do this step fully and completely. What do you enjoy doing? Believe me there are people all over the world getting paid to do what they have fun at. There are people all over the world who make a lot of money doing the things that YOU like to do. Why not you too? Make the list.
Take the attitude of being a kid making a Christmas list for Santa. Just brainstorm. Write down what you really enjoy doing. There is a great book titled “Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow” by Marsha Sinetar. Check it out if you need more help on just coming up with your list.
Remember this is YOUR list. Write down what YOU like to DO! For the moment ignore what your friends and family might think, don’t worry about “how” you can get paid to do what is fun. You might think, no one gets paid to eat in good restaurants all over the country. Food critics around the world would disagree. No one gets paid just to sit and talk to famous people…how about Jay Leno or Oprah? There are thousands of mini Jay and Oprah hosts everywhere making big money just talking to famous people. Why not you? No one gets paid to listen to their favorite music…Music critics and catalog curators make a bundle doing just that.
Here’s the point: Trust me, we will get to the “how” later on. But for today just make the list of what you like to do. We’ll cover the how later. Be outrageous. Have fun. It will happen if you will take the time and make it so. If you think you can or think you can’t. You’re right.
